Good Afternoon! It's hard to believe that November is here! With a new month comes a new character education word for the month - Responsibility. The Dragonflies learned that being responsible means taking care of ourselves, our friends, and our belongings. We will be mindful of ways in which we can be responsible throughout November. During this weeks Second Steps lesson, we learned that feeling angry is okay and that everyone feels angry sometimes, but it is never okay to be mean or hurt others when we are angry. The Dragonflies learned to identify the angry feeling, and a few children shared a time when they have felt angry. The letter of the week was C. This week we glued black triangles for eyes and noses and scary or happy mouths on our orange pumpkins we previously painted at the easel, used our fine motor skills to cut fall colored yarn in the sensory table, made a Spookly, square pumpkin, and played a candy corn counting game. We read Llama Llama Trick or Treat, The Legend of Spookly the Square Pumpkin, and The Runaway Pumpkin. During Music, Ms. Li taught us some pumpkin action songs, and we all took turns playing her special large xylophone, and in Art we read Glad Monster Sad Monster and made monster creations using model magic . There is no school on Tuesday, November 7th.
