Happy Thursday Families! We cannot believe that December is here, and what a perfect opportunity for The Dragonflies to embrace their family traditions and celebrations. We also learned what it means to be caring and helpful during Second Steps. The Dragonflies can show they care by saying something kind or doing something helpful - perfect timing on this lesson! Our letter of the week was G. This week we practiced our cutting skills by cutting wrapping paper, sorted according to color, made family trees by drawing family members on green paper and using brown paint to create a tree trunk and branches, and created our family home by using triangle and square shapes. We read The Family Book, Come Over to my House, and Our Class is a Family. During Music, we sang some old music class favorites and played the bongos, and in Art we read The Snowy Day and talked about wavy lines while gluing white wavy snow onto blue paper. Please be sure and label outerwear for your child - it helps us so much when it is time to pack up at the end of the day.
