Happy Thursday Families! The Dragonflies enjoyed an exciting first week of school. All of the children are learning each others names and are beginning to settle into our routine here at LECC. We will have several classroom jobs but are starting slowly with just two - the line leader and door holder. The Dragonflies are also learning a song we sing at the beginning of each day titled "Good Morning Dragonflies." This week we watercolored dragonflies, made pictures with dot paint, experimented with play dough, made dragonflies using glue and construction paper, and practiced identifying numbers and seeing how high we could count as well as playing with a variety of toys around the classroom. We read The Dipping Dragonfly, Are you a Dragonfly, Our Class is a Family, and Biscuit Goes to School. We also met Ms. Li, our music teacher. She taught us a song titled "Hey Everybody" to help us learn to greet one another, and another name game song titled "Hickelty Pickelty" with lots of movement built in. Art will not begin until next week. The Dragonflies loved exploring The Big Room and the gym for the first time this week as well.
