Good Afternoon Families! This week we introduced our classroom and school rules (see picture below) and talked about what it means to welcome someone and to be a good friend. Our school wide character trait for the upcoming month of September will be respect - using good manners, listening to friends' words, and solving problems peacefully. The words to our "Be Respectful" song can be found in the picture below, and it is sung to the tune of "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star." We will focus on this trait next month. This week The Dragonflies worked together to color a large dragonfly to hang up in our class, practiced some fine motor skills including cutting, and dot painted a rainbow fish complete with a shiny scale. Our class realized the rainbow fish grew happier as he shared with others. We read Can I Play Too?, The Rainbow Fish, and Should I Share my Ice Cream. During Music we sang and danced to Pete the Cat Rocking in my School Shoes and learned some new yoga poses. This week we met Ms. Tara our LECC art teacher. She taught us the color wheel colors and sang a song about all the colors of the world. We then mixed various colors of paint. Thank you for sharing your beautiful children with us!
