Hello Families! This week our theme was bears and hibernation, and the letter of the week was R. During Second Steps, we discussed what anger can feel like in our bodies and are brainstorming ways to calm down in addition to deep belly breaths. The Dragonflies created and extended patterns with teddy bear manipulatives, sponge painted bear faces with paint, played a hibernation dice game, played with teddy bears in the snow (salt and glitter), and practiced our lacing skills with various animals including bears. We watched an educational video about hibernation and read Goldilocks and the Three Bears and Bear Snores On. Ms. Li taught us a new song called "We Have Fun at LECC" and we played a polar bear version of the duck duck goose game, and in Art we learned about the artist Jean Michel-Basquiat and his love of crowns and painted our own cardboard crowns.
