Good Afternoon! We completed our unit on bears, and the letter of the week was K. During Second Steps, The Dragonflies learned that calming down can help them manage feeling excited while they are waiting for something and that counting is helpful tool to help them patiently wait. Our new character trait for February is bravery - trying new things. We have practiced our "Brave Song" many times as well - it's sung to the tune of "If You're Happy and you Know It." This week The Dragonflies identified the letters in their first names and stamped them on paper, sorted gummy bears according to color, made bear faces using paper plates and brown paint, and made our own special bear cave. On Thursday we kept the lights off during snack time and story time so that our teddy bears could continue to hibernate. We read Brown Bear Brown Bear What do you See?, Corduroy, and I'm going on a Bear Hunt. In Music, we practiced the words and motions to our new LECC school song and danced with egg shakers to a new song called "LOVE." During Art, we finished decorating our crowns.
