April 9 - 11, 2024

Good Afternoon Families! This week The Dragonflies focused on clouds and rainbows, and the letter of the week was Z. The theme of our Second Steps lesson this week was speaking up for yourself in an assertive, kind way. The Dragonflies learned that if someone treats you poorly in a mean or unsafe way, you can respectfully and assertively speak up for yourself.  The Dragonflies were treated to a special show featuring Dino O' Dell on Tuesday! Later in the week we made various imaginative clouds using a mixture of glue and shaving cream after reading It Looked Like Spilt Milk and used shaving cream to create clouds on individual trays. We also read How the Crayons Saved the Rainbow, learned the colors of the rainbow by singing "The Rainbow Song," and made our own rainbows using water colors and cotton balls for clouds. Ms. Li taught us two new songs titled "If all the Raindrops" and "Buzzzzy like a Bee" and in Art we read a story about scribbles and colored in birds and wings while making scribble nests for them.
